Buddy
Tuesday, November 25th, 2008I sent out this email this morning to as many people I could think of. If I missed you, here is what I wrote:
Some sad news — yesterday, Buddy, the wonderful horse whom many of you know, died. He died of a strangulating lipoma, the resulting colic, and then ultimately a ruptured stomach. We brought him to the Purdue veterinary large animal clinic after a day of trying to manage his colic — tragically his stomach ruptured either on the way to the clinic, or when we got there. In either event, nothing could be done.
We all are in a kind of shock, and miss him very much. If you know someone who knew Buddy that I’ve missed sending this to, please let them know that he is gone.
And thank you for being Buddy’s friend and champion. He truly was a great horse.
happy birthday
Sunday, November 16th, 2008My brother, Dan, is a year older as of yesterday. His birthday. Which I sadly forgot. I didn’t really forget it; I just forgot that yesterday was the day. But I remembered today, so happy birthday Dan. And watch your mailbox for something just for you. I think you will like it.
Love,
Jean
pass the time til the polls close
Tuesday, November 4th, 2008Try these links to keep your mind off the election:
This one lets you make red states go blue (and if you must, vice versa): MAP
And this one gives you a peek into Palin’s world. Very scary.
And this one is smarter than most: NPR
And this one even smarter than that one: Dan
And here’s even a sermon to read.
And don’t forget to vote. Or, engage in principled Non-voting (thank you Dan for that terminology).
Now. Go have a nice big glass of your favorite grog.
